Corporate Sponsorship

The Learning Club model relies on the generosity of people who share their time and resources with our students. Corporate sponsorship of a Learning Club site enriches the lives of a company’s employees as well as our students and community.

How can sponsoring a Learning Club site help my company?
More than anything, involvement by your employees creates camaraderie and a sense of purpose. Volunteering together allows people to develop relationships in a relaxed environment. Tutoring historically marginalized children as a team creates a larger sense of purpose and mission, and helps your employees contribute to the betterment of our community in a very tangible, personal way. Sponsoring a site also allows for promotion of the company to other Learning Club stakeholders and other community members.

What does sponsorship involve?
We ask sponsors to recruit 8-15 employees to tutor our students for one hour, one evening a week.  We can help recruit through presentations to your employees.  We also ask you to assist with funding the site and/or providing in-kind donations, to ensure the sustainability of our work with the children at your site.

Are some Learning Club sites already sponsored by local businesses?
Yes. Security Bank of Kansas City as well as Ryan Lawn and Tree each sponsor a Learning Club site, providing volunteers and funding to operate their respective sites. Both have been tremendous partners in our work with children.

How can our employees impact the lives of Learning Club students?
As professionals form mentoring / tutoring relationships with our students, we’ve seen incredible results: grades go up, enthusiasm for learning increases, and self-confidence blossoms. Children come to know that there are people in the community who truly care about them and want them to succeed in life.

Are there other ways that my company can benefit?
Yes. You may use your involvement in the Learning Club in your advertising, social media campaigns, annual reports, etc.  Customers appreciate hearing that a local company is investing in the community and making an impact on the lives of children.  We will promote your company’s sponsorship on our website and social media posts.

How can I learn more?
We would be happy to come to your office and share with you a 20-30 minute presentation about the Learning Club and how you can be involved.  We’d also love to have you come and visit a Learning Club site in session, to meet our students and volunteers.  For more information, contact Brad Grabs, Founder and Executive Director, at 913-244-5838, or BGrabs@LearningClubKCK.org.
