Applying for the Learning Club Internship
Learning Club's Teaching Internship program is seeking USD 500 high school students to mentor children in the KCK community!
Click here to apply to the Internship Program for the 2026-2027 school year. As part of the application, you will be asked to write one essay response, and the form cannot be saved. The essay questions are listed below, and we recommend writing your responses before starting the application.
"Please write a detailed paragraph (4-7 Sentences) that answers the following, please be specific in your response.
If you are a NEW APPLICANT, please answer these two questions.
1. What are your goals for the future, and how do you think this internship could help you get there?
2. What do you enjoy about working with kids?
If you are a RETURNING INTERN, please answer these two questions.
1. What do you enjoy about the internship program?
2. What do you wish to gain from participating in this year’s internship?"
If you submitted your application in the Spring, you will hear from us in August with an update on the status of your application. If you apply during the 2026-27 school year, you will hear back from us within 7 business days by email.
Interns tutor one day a week and earn a stipend of $20 per session and 3 community service hours. Learning Club Interns will participate in professional development sessions focusing on leadership and communication skills, exploring future college and career paths, and gain hands-on education experience tutoring younger students.

- Students from USD 500 will be given first priority for the internship.
- Transportation will only be provided for students in USD 500.
- This application will take about 30-45 minutes to complete.
- Interns who apply before the beginning of the school year will be contacted in early August with an update on your application status.
- Interns begin their internship program working with students in mid-September.
